Dave is the founder of Callahan Financial Management Group, LLC based in Dayton, OH. With nearly 50 years of experience in the financial services industry, Dave has built his career around serving others with integrity, care, and long-term perspective. His work has included advising both individual and corporate clients across Ohio and throughout the country.
A Clear Vision and Business Owner Mentality
Originally from Long Island, New York, Dave established his roots in Dayton after graduating from the University of Dayton. Over the course of his career, he gained extensive experience at several national brokerage firms, including more than two decades as a Senior Vice President of Investments. With over 45 years serving as a Financial Advisor, Dave has a deep understanding of investment strategies and planning.
As Dave’s career progressed, he developed a clear vision for the kind of advisory firm he believed clients deserved – one built on transparency, flexibility and thoughtful decision-making. He recognized that truly serving clients required the mindset of a business owner: the ability to intentionally shape a firm’s direction, culture, and client experience.
That vision led to the creation of Callahan Financial Management Group, LLC in 2005. His goal was to build an independent advisory practice fully aligned with his values and structured to consistently act in clients’ best interests. Today, Dave remains actively involved in supporting the firm by serving a select group of clients and guiding the firm’s mission as CFMG continues to grow.

Dave’s career reflects consistent leadership and professional excellence. He was a member of the Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network Platinum Council for 17 consecutive years, from 2007-2023, and has served on the License Advisory Board for Wells Fargo Financial Network.
In addition, Callahan Financial Management Group, LLC has been recognized as a Forbes Best-in-State Wealth Management Team for 2023, 2024, 2025, and 2026.
Beyond the OfficeOutside of the office, Dave remains actively engaged in the Dayton community. He has devoted time to numerous charitable organizations over the years and has served on a variety of committees and boards. He is especially passionate about supporting University of Dayton athletics and the Evans Scholars Foundation.
Dave lives in Dayton, Ohio with his wife, Debbie. Together, they enjoy spending time in Hilton Head, traveling, and sharing quality time with friends and family.
